San Francisco Bay Area artist, Virginia Knepper Doyle, was born and raised in San Francisco, CA, and received a BA Degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in English and Psychology. Doyle married a US Foreign Service Officer and lived in South America, the United States and Europe. Virginia studied art at painter's workshops, emerging with a style both personal, and yet reflecting the colors of Latin America and the reflections of light of the French Impressionists she came to admire.

Living again in California, Doyle painted verdant glowing local landscapes in oil and watercolor. Recently, the artist's work has turned from "impressionistic" to "impressionistic abstraction" in which she borrows certain ideas and images from her former work and adds collage and other abstract elements to define a new direction. She has also branched out into creating painted fabrics which include shirts, skirts, and bags.

Virginia has exhibited worldwide, including Le Grand Palais in Paris, The National Arts Club in New York, and theUnited Nations Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China. Doyle is included in many corporate collections and in the 1995 edition of "Who's Who In American Art."
